How do I know if I have a V1 or V2 embedded wallet and what is the advantage of upgrading to V2?

If you joined Legion after April 2025, you likely have a V2 wallet.

A V2 wallet lets you confirm transactions instantly without needing email verification.
A V1 wallet still requires a passkey or email confirmation to approve transactions.

You don’t have to upgrade to V2, but please read carefully before doing so:

  • Transferring funds is mandatory before upgrading. Upgrading permanently deletes your V1 wallet, and any remaining assets will be lost. Legion cannot recover or take responsibility for lost funds.

  • To upgrade, follow steps below:

To export your Legion embedded wallet, follow these steps:

    • Go to the 'Wallet' section.

    • Next to your Legion wallet, click the settings icon to the right of the wallet.

    • Click on 'Create session.' You will receive an OTP code via email; paste it into the provided field. This step is required to enable export and execute transactions with your embedded wallet.

    • Once your session is active, click on 'view private key.' Your wallet will be ready to export.

    • Back up your private key in a secure place to protect your assets. Repeat the process for your recovery phrase if needed.

These are non-custodial wallets—Legion never stores your private keys. Keep your key private, as it controls your account and assets. Legion holds no responsibility for the loss of your private keys
